Why this matters: This trigger monitors your selected Google Calendar for new events and kicks off the recording process whenever a meeting with a URL is created.

You'll select which Google Calendar to monitor from your connected calendars using the "Select Calendar" dropdown. The workflow checks for new events and captures meeting details like the meeting URL ({{googlecalendar.meetUrl}}) which gets passed to the recording step.

Why this matters: This step launches a Recall recording bot that joins your meeting automatically and handles the entire recording process without manual intervention.

The bot creation uses the meeting URL captured from your calendar event ({{googlecalendar.meetUrl}}) and assigns it a standard name "MESA Recording Bot" so you can easily identify it in your meetings. Recall's bot will join the meeting at the scheduled time, record the audio and video, and provide you with the recording file and transcript afterward. The bot appears as a participant named "MESA Recording Bot" in your meeting, so attendees know the session is being recorded.

Will attendees know the meeting is being recorded?
Yes, the "MESA Recording Bot" will appear as a meeting participant, making it clear that the session is being recorded. You should also follow your organization's recording consent policies.
What happens if the meeting URL changes after the bot is created?
If you update the meeting URL in Google Calendar after the bot is already created, you'll need to manually recreate the bot with the new URL, as the original bot will try to join the old meeting location.
Can I record meetings from multiple calendars?
This template monitors one calendar at a time. To record from multiple calendars, you'll need to duplicate this workflow and configure each copy with a different calendar selection.
