Import Customers Into Shopify From a CSV on FTP
Customer lists from another platform, an event, or an offline channel usually arrive as a CSV file. This workflow watches a customer CSV on your FTP server and creates a Shopify customer for each new row, with name, phone, address, tags, and notes, after checking the email is not already in your store.

FAQs
Can I import customer passwords?
No. Shopify does not accept imported passwords. Imported customers set their own password through Shopify's account invite or reset flow.
What happens if a customer is already in Shopify?
The workflow looks up the email first and stops for that row if a customer already exists, so no duplicate is created.
Can it update existing customers instead?
Yes. Add a path for rows where the customer was found and use Update Customer or Customer Add Tag to bring their record up to date.
