How it works

Follow these 2 simple steps to update order statuses when customers place orders with customizations

infinite options icon

Order Created

App connector: Infinite Options • Time to complete: 0 minutes (Auto-configured)
Why this matters: This trigger monitors your Infinite Options orders and starts the workflow whenever a customer places an order with product customizations, ensuring no customized orders slip through without proper status tracking.

This step automatically detects when a new order comes in through Infinite Options and captures all the order details including the order ID, customer information, and customization details. The trigger runs continuously in the background and requires no configuration from you. Once an order is detected, it immediately passes the order data to the next step for status processing.

Update Manual Status Order

App connector: Tracktor • Time to complete: 2 minutes
Why this matters: This action updates the order status in Tracktor to reflect that the order contains customizations, allowing your fulfillment team to identify and handle these special orders appropriately.

You'll need to configure the custom order status that gets applied to orders with Infinite Options customizations. In the "What is the custom order status that you would like to update to?" field, enter the specific status name you use in Tracktor for customized orders (such as "Customization Required", "Needs Review", or "Custom Order"). The step automatically takes the order ID from the trigger and sends the status update to Tracktor. Make sure the status name matches exactly what you have set up in your Tracktor account.

Make it your own

Customize this workflow even further:

Set conditional status updates
Apply different Tracktor statuses based on the type or complexity of customizations, such as "Simple Custom" for text additions versus "Complex Custom" for uploaded files.
Connect inventory management
Link to inventory systems to automatically check component availability for customized products and update status to "Awaiting Materials" when items are out of stock.
Add team notifications
Send Slack or email alerts to your production team when high-priority custom orders come in, including order details and customization requirements.
Track customization metrics
Store custom order data in MESA Tables to analyze which products get customized most often and measure fulfillment times for different customization types.

Frequently asked questions

What Tracktor statuses work best for customized orders?
Use descriptive statuses like "Customization Pending", "Design Review", or "Custom Production" that clearly indicate the order needs special handling. Avoid generic statuses like "Processing" that don't communicate the customization requirement to your fulfillment team.
Will this workflow update orders that don't have customizations?
No, this workflow only triggers on orders created through Infinite Options, which means the customer has added some form of customization. Regular orders without customizations won't trigger this workflow or get updated in Tracktor.
Can I use different status updates for different types of customizations?
Currently this workflow applies one status to all Infinite Options orders. To handle different customization types with different statuses, you'd need to modify the workflow with conditional logic based on the specific customization details in the order data.
