This step runs in the background using your connected Shopify account credentials. The shop domain gets extracted and formatted to create the proper admin URL structure that will let you jump directly to the order details. This information combines with the order ID to form the complete admin link.

Why this matters: This delivers the actual SMS notification with order details and a direct link to view the order in your Shopify admin.

You'll need to enter the phone number where you want to receive order notifications in the "What phone number should receive this notification?" field. The SMS message is pre-configured to include the order name and a clickable link that takes you directly to that order in your Shopify admin panel. Enter your phone number in standard format (like +1234567890 for US numbers) - MESA currently supports US and Canadian phone numbers only. The message automatically populates with each new order's specific details and admin link.

Frequently asked questions

Will I get notifications for test orders or draft orders?
No, this workflow only triggers on completed orders from actual customers. Test orders and draft orders won't send SMS notifications, so you won't get alerts during store testing.
Can I set up notifications for multiple phone numbers?
This template sends to one phone number, but you can duplicate the "Send Message" step and configure different phone numbers for each one to notify multiple team members simultaneously.
What happens if the SMS fails to send?
If the SMS fails (due to invalid phone number or service issues), the workflow will log the error in your MESA activity feed, but it won't stop or retry automatically - you'll need to check your activity log for any delivery issues.
