How it works

Follow these 2 simple steps to start syncing Blog Studio articles across your Shopify stores

Article Created

This trigger captures new Blog Studio articles the moment they're published on your primary store, ensuring your secondary stores receive content immediately while it's fresh and timely.
When a new article is created in Blog Studio, this trigger activates the workflow and captures the complete article data. The workflow monitors your primary Shopify store's Blog Studio and runs for every new article created.

Create Blog Article on Another Store

Replicates the complete article to your secondary store with identical content, metadata, and formatting, maintaining consistent brand voice and messaging across all your regional or market-specific stores.
This step creates a new Blog Studio article on your secondary Shopify store using the data from the trigger. Critical setup requirement: You need to connect your secondary Shopify store to MESA first. In the step settings, you'll select which connected store should receive the article. The workflow can only sync to stores that have been added to your MESA account with proper API credentials.

Make it your own

Customize this workflow even further:

Sync to multiple stores simultaneously
Duplicate the "Create Blog Article on Another Store" step multiple times, configuring each copy to send to different regional stores, ensuring all your markets receive content at the same time.
Customize content for regional differences
Add a transform step between trigger and creation that modifies specific content elements (like currency symbols, regional terminology, or localized links) before creating the article on each store.
Add delay for staged rollouts
Insert a delay step before article creation to publish content on your secondary stores hours or days after the primary store, allowing you to test performance and make adjustments before wider distribution.
Send Slack notifications when articles sync
Add a Slack message step after the article is created to notify your regional teams that new content is live on their stores, including the article title and a direct link to review it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sync articles to more than one secondary store?
Yes, simply duplicate the "Create Blog Article on Another Store" step for each additional store you want to sync to. Each step can be configured to send to a different connected Shopify store, allowing you to maintain consistent content across unlimited stores.
What happens if an article with the same handle already exists on the secondary store?
The workflow will attempt to create a new article with the same handle. If Blog Studio prevents duplicate handles, the workflow may fail. Consider adding logic to check for existing articles first, or use unique handles that include store identifiers.
Does this sync article updates or only new articles?
This workflow only syncs when new articles are created. If you edit an article on your primary store after it's published, those changes won't automatically sync to secondary stores. You would need another workflow to use an "Article Updated" trigger to handle ongoing content synchronization.
