Why do I need this if I already save new Etsy listings to a sheet?

The Save Etsy Product Listings to Google Sheets template runs when a new listing goes active, so it never adds the listings you already had. This workflow fills in the existing catalog in one pass, and the other template keeps it current afterward.

Does this change anything in my Etsy shop?

No. It only reads listings and writes rows. To push edits from the sheet back to Etsy, use the Update Etsy Listing Price from Google Sheets template, which updates titles, descriptions, and prices.

How many MESA tasks does it use?

About one task per listing for the Add Row step, plus one per page of 100 listings fetched. Loop steps are not billed as tasks, so a 300 listing shop uses a little over 300 tasks for a full export.
