Summarize Amazon Product Reviews in a Weekly Google Doc

4 min setup
No coding required
Runs automatically

Amazon reviews show what buyers love and hate about a product, yours or a competitor's, but reading them one by one every week rarely happens. This workflow pulls the latest reviews for an Amazon product on a schedule, has Claude group them into praise, complaints and feature requests, and saves the summary as a new Google Doc your team can read in two minutes.

How it works

4 steps to get a weekly Google Doc of what Amazon reviewers are saying

schedule icon

Run once a week

App connector: Schedule • Time to complete: 1 minute

Run weekly, for example every Monday at 8am. Amazon has no trigger in MESA, so the workflow reads reviews on a schedule.

Get the product's latest reviews from Amazon

App connector: Amazon • Time to complete: 1 minute

Fetch the most recent reviews for the chosen product ASIN, including each review's star rating, title, text and date.

Claude sums up praise, complaints and requests

App connector: Claude • Time to complete: 1 minute

Send the review ratings and text to Claude and ask for a short report: average rating of this batch, the top 3 things buyers praise, the top 3 complaints with a quoted example each, and any feature requests. Plain text with headings, under 500 words.

Save the summary as a dated Google Doc

App connector: Google Docs • Time to complete: 1 minute

Create a Google Doc titled 'Amazon review summary: <product> <date>' containing Claude's report, in the shared folder the team uses.

FAQs

Can I track a competitor's product instead of my own?

Yes. The Amazon step reads public reviews by ASIN, so you can point it at any product listed on Amazon, including a competitor's.

Why does this run on a schedule?

MESA's Amazon connector has no trigger for new reviews, so the workflow reads the latest reviews on a recurring schedule. Weekly keeps each report focused on recent feedback.

Can I track several products in one report?

Yes. Add a Get List of Product's Reviews step for each ASIN before the Claude step and ask Claude to summarize each product under its own heading.

Personalize this template

Customize this workflow even further:

Only low ratings
Add a Loop and Filter after the Amazon step so only reviews of 3 stars or fewer reach Claude, turning the doc into a weekly complaints report.
Email the doc link
Add an Email step at the end that sends the new document's link to your product team each week.
